These two threw a wedding of a lifetime! With a pre-ceremony the day before at the beautiful St. Louis church in downtown Buffalo, Dan & Ashley pledged their love to one another in front of an intimate group of friends and family. Saturday was the day of the big festivities which all took place at the Hotel Henry. As a former Asylum for the insane which closed its doors forever in the 70's, this immaculate building was brought back to life in more ways than one last year. I had been dying to book a couple within these magnificent walls and not only did I, but Ashley is one of the kindest bride's I've had the pleasure of working with. I have spent years in the park connected with this venue with my dog Otto, laying in the grass admiring this architectural beauty to finally get to photograph the inside. I was over the moon! The ceremony took place right on the front steps, short and sweet. The night kicked off with many of group dances, light up glasses and a live band. I can honestly say I have never had a better meal than I had at their wedding! What might have been the best and a first for me, was when Chewbacca came to surprise Ashley out on the dance floor (pictured below). An overall beautiful and hilarious day and I couldn't be happier to have been a part of it.
I've known Raelyn since I first moved to Buffalo for college back in 2009. We immediately clicked with our large group of close friends commiserating over homework, going to concerts or even just making dinner at one another's apartments. Jon soon came into the picture and then never left. He became a fixture in Raelyn's life and we couldn't have been happier for it. The two of them complete each other... no, like they really do! They decided to marry in a place that is dear to them, Long Lake in the Adirondacks. On a beautiful, sunny afternoon I watched these two make the sweetest vows to each other. Full of promises, their hopes but most of all, their abundance of love. Not only is this my job but I truly find happiness in moments like these where I not only get to witness my loved one's biggest days but also curate it for memories to come. Thank you again Jon + Rae for having me!
These two had the most beautiful and down to earth wedding I've been to in quite some time. Jill first contacted me over a year ago to set up an engagement session nestled in the woods where Evan first proposed. We had fun crossing over streams over fallen down tree limbs and reminiscing on how her now husband so romantically popped the question. Fast forward to the big day these two have been waiting for, yet again within the company of the forest and nature. An open air building so quaintly decorated with wild flowers and sentiments of their love, the night was filled with good beer, many laughs and just pure fun. I had such an amazing time witnessing Jill and Evan commit to one another although they had made that decision long ago. It was beautiful to see them share this day with their closest friends and family. Long time wishes of happiness and love to the newly married couple!
Lauren & Wouter had family come for their celebration far and wide to this beautiful estate tucked away in the woods of Arcade, NY. Surrounded by friends and family, these two vowed to spend the rest of their lives together dedicated to a life full of fun, travel and adventure. This venue was magnificently gorgeous but what had the bride most excited was the baby goats! With a barn just large enough to hold all of their loved ones, they danced the night away arm in arm. A huge congrats is due to the new couple on their next big chapter in life together!
Let me first just say that these two are the epitome of adorable. When I first met them this winter, we had a quirky, fun filled session romping through the snow at Tift Nature Preserve. Cuddled close in a blanket, these two couldn't stop smiling at one another. Their wedding day wasn't much different. Surrounded by their loved ones and friends, Corey and Karen joined together as one and then out danced the night away. My favorite part? Their bridal party surprised them with their own rap version of "Prince of Belair" that related to the two. All in all, it was a beautiful day filled with many memories I'm sure they won't soon forget. Let's give a well deserved congrats to the Stuff's!
Both Brooklyn residents, these two wanted to get outside the city life for their nuptials. When they contacted me about covering their big day, I was in! Especially after looking up what their venue looked like. Rolling hills at a stately manor right beside a lake was sounding more appealing by the minute. It blew me away seeing it in person! I will say that working weddings I have become a bit accustom to hearing the vows, the speeches, first dances, etc. Not on this day! The outpouring of genuine love at this wedding was almost too much for me to handle, especially Solara's mother's speech during dinner which had everyone reaching for their tissues. Their day was filled with tears, most of them happy, laughter and lots of dancing. Thank you again to these two for letting me be a part of the most important day of their lives. Congrats Zach + Solara!
I met Jeff + Michelle just a little over two years ago when they contacted me to shoot their wedding. We bonded over our shared love of travel and similar trips to the coast of Oregon, gushing over its rocky seashore and lush forests. If I connect with anyone, it's people who revel in searching the unknown parts of the world. Together, they have explored the globe while being madly in love and just like rock solid couples do, they compromised with their wedding day. Michelle wanting that country, nature feel we took photos at Knox Farms in East Aurora and satiated Jeff's urban draw to the city with their reception being downtown. We had the best of both worlds and I am so happy I got to witness these two join together as one on their big day.
We could not have asked for a better winter day today! While we might not have had the sunshine, these two brought the spark. Energetic, fun and love all around is what makes a happy couple and a happy couple makes for beautiful photos. I hardly had to direct Karen nor Cory as they so naturally vibed off one another. I cannot express how excited I am for their wedding this year at the Hotel Lafayette!
I thought my job couldn't get any better, that was until Colleen asked me to photograph some of her amazing creations that she makes for her company Butterblock based right here in Buffalo. Colleen hand makes each and every one of her desserts to perfection whether it be a apple pie pop tart pastry all the way to a Gâteau Basque featured below. I was so graciously given a slice of this cake after we were done and oh my, this thing is heavenly. Enough of my gushing about these fabulous desserts, go try some for yourself. To find out where to get these, head on over to Butterblock's website. You'll be thanking me later!
While I have resided in Buffalo for almost a decade, I originally am from the Upstate New York. I travel there often, sometimes three times a month although sometimes less. It is certainly somewhere that is not only very dear to me but magical in its own way. Luckily for me, I was able to book up my entire weekend with some winter mini sessions back home. So not only did I get to photograph a bunch of adorable family's romping around in the snow, I also got to spend quality time with family and friends. You will notice a theme between these three sessions and it's crazy coincidence, (it's not the snow) but all three of these lovely ladies are expecting! Congratulations to Audrey, Brittie & Tracy on their new arrivals!
